XRP Transaction Fees

~₹0.0001typical fee per transaction (0.00001 XRP minimum)

The XRP Ledger charges a minuscule, dynamic fee per transaction — designed primarily to prevent spam rather than to generate revenue for validators.

How XRP fees work

Every XRP Ledger transaction burns a small amount of XRP as its fee — permanently removing it from circulation rather than paying it to a miner or validator. The network-enforced minimum is 0.00001 XRP (10 drops), though the reference fee can rise dynamically if the network detects unusual load, as an anti-spam mechanism rather than a revenue auction.

Why XRP fees stay so low

The XRP Ledger uses a federated consensus mechanism rather than proof-of-work mining or the fee-market auctions seen on Ethereum, which means there's no economic incentive structure requiring fees to rise with demand the way there is on Bitcoin or Ethereum. This has made XRP historically popular for cross-border payment use cases where transaction cost at scale matters.

Because fees are burned rather than paid to any party, and because they're denominated directly in XRP (not gas units like Ethereum), there's no separate "gas token" or gwei-equivalent to track — what you see is what you pay.
